Lawley’s Small Batch Rum
Fair Winds and Following Seas
The world famous, George Lawley & Sons Shipyard, builders of America’s Cup winning yachts occupied the distillery’s very same location and built mine sweepers for WWII in it. Lawley’s Small Batch Rum salutes the boldness and tenacity of the entrepreneurs and sailors of yesteryear with a nod to the original American spirit made right here in New England.
100% Distiller’s Grade Molasses is used to produce these handmade, small batch rums. The spirit comes off of our handmade copper-pot still, registered No. 1776, at double the alcohol — 160 proof as the finished product, bottled at 80 proof. Lawley’s Small Batch Dark Rum is aged in used Putnam New England Rye 53-gallon American oak barrels to give it a caramel, vanilla and bakeshop spiced finish and a smooth, silky texture defined once again by our distiller’s narrow hearts cuts.
Lawley’s Original, a new coastal standard, derived from our region’s rich Rum making heritage, is an excellent canvas for fresh fruit and citrus driven cocktails. Lawley’s Dark is the perfect foundation for any cocktail or just over ice.
